Initial Contact:

Either in person, phone or email, I try to get as much information about the project as possible.  Providing images of your ideas, your own sketches and/or photos of like work, will help the review stage.  Please do use any images and words you think may help convey your ideas.

Estimates:

For existing works in my gallery page I can give accurate quotes within a day or two.  Steel prices fluctuate and I must check current rates before giving exact pricing.  For new orders, I am not really able to give an immediate estimate without you having provided some level of communication and detail of your idea.  It is important to understand that custom work opens up many different design possibilities that cover a wide range of prices.

Design Creation:

Through either your specific design instructions or through a collaboration of what design you do have along with my direction, some hours, possibly many, may be spent in research and design.  It is helpful if you have any examples of ideas that appeal to you.  Whether these are magazine or website images, photographs, sketches or even specific words that will help convey your thoughts, anything that can be utilized to properly bring your idea to life.  I will provide return sketches to confirm the direction of the design.  At this point I may request a 20% deposit to continue further into the design process.  Upon completion of the project, this fee is deducted from the total cost.  If not covered during the initial contact, I will at this stage communicate my current work load and what time-frame you can expect for your piece.  In the future I will be using the Google SketchUp program to better our communication during the design phase. Budget:

Another consideration for the client is your budget.  If you ask me to create a design for you it is important for you to communicate your budget so that I can design within it.  Spending your money and our time designing a custom piece that does not fit your budget is not productive for either of us.

Design Proposal:

Once the final design is completed, we will have a chance to look at it together, either in person or by emailed images. At this time we can make any changes necessary. Upon signed approval, I require a non-refundable 50% down payment, (or an additional 30% if 20% was collected during design), to commence work on your project.  Any requested design changes after signed approval will incur additional fees accordingly.  Jobs are scheduled according to order of deposit received.

Delivery and Installation:

Full balance due before shipping or personal delivery/pick-up.  No COD. Sculptures that are under 200 pounds may be crated and shipped from Sedona, Arizona. Pieces may also be shipped via UPS depending on size and weight.  I can also arrange for personal delivery.  Or, if you plan to be in the area around the time the sculpture is completed, you may pick it up at the studio in Cottonwood, Arizona.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
